Crime, Shame and Reintegration: Review, Questions and CommentsDepartment of Sociology The University of New England This paper reviews Crime, Shame and Reintegration (Braithwaite, 1989) to isolate key concepts and processes in this new integrative theory. After outlining the theory, a series of questions is proposed which when answered, it is believed, will move the theory closer to a fully testable model of crime. These questions involve concepts and pro cesses at both the macro- and micro-levels of analysis.
